
Erik Engel has been a trauma therapist specializing in PTSD and complex trauma for over 30 years, starting with adolescents in a suburban school district and also has extensive experience supporting veterans and their families, supporting reintegration after deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Erik is a military veteran himself and was mobilized during desert storm.
Most recently, he has worked as a therapist for law enforcement/ police officers and other first responders in various therapeutic contexts from preventive wellbeing (outpatient talk therapy) to crisis management.
He specializes in supporting both couples and individual male therapy, navigating masculinity in today’s complex societal expectations of men.
He uses CBT, Prolonged Exposure, and Wellbeing models of practice.

For self-care, Erik attends art fairs and eats at restaurant happy hours with his wife, plays beach doubles volleyball and pickleball, and practices jujitsu.
