Adolescent Therapy
Guidance and support for life’s most transformative years
Sometimes being a teenager feels full of contradictions: wanting independence, yet needing guidance; feeling both confident and unsure. Adolescent therapy offers a safe, compassionate space for teens to explore identity, cope with pressures, and build tools for emotional wellness. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just willingness to show up.
Why try Adolescent Therapy?
EXPLORE WHO YOU ARE
When everything feels changing, therapy can help sort through feelings about identity, values, and belonging without pressure or judgment.
NAVIGATE RELATIONSHIPS & COMMUNICATION
Whether it’s with parents, friends, or others, improving how you communicate and understand each other can reduce conflict and increase support.
FACE LIFE TRANSITIONS WITH CONFIDENCE
Middle → high school, starting/ending friendships or relationships, preparing for college—these changes can be hard. Therapy can help make them feel more manageable.
UNDERSTAND & EXPRESS EMOTIONS
Anger, sadness, anxiety—sometimes they come in words, sometimes they don’t. Therapy gives a place to express what’s really going on inside, even when it’s hard to say.
BUILD HEALTHY COPING SKILLS
Stress, school demands, peer pressure—therapy helps teens develop coping tools so that stress doesn’t become overwhelming.
GAIN A SENSE OF SAFETY & SUPPORT
You don’t have to carry everything alone. Adolescent therapy offers a trusted person who listens, respects your pace, and helps you feel less isolated.
Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED TO BE "IN CRISIS" TO GO TO THERAPY?
No. Adolescents often benefit from therapy even when things seem “just fine.” Therapy can support personal growth, help with stress or uncertainty, or simply offer someone to talk to who gets it.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE TALKING TOO MUCH?
That’s totally okay. Therapy can include lots of different modes: drawing, journaling, creative projects, or other nonverbal ways to express what’s happening inside without forcing big conversations.
ARE SESSIONS PRIVATE? WILL MY PARENTS KNOW WHAT WE TALK ABOUT?
Yes, your privacy is respected. Therapists will explain how confidentiality works, including when there are exceptions (for example, concerns about safety). Part of the work in therapy is helping you and your parents/guardians understand what sharing feels comfortable.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF IT'S WORKING?
Signs might include feeling less overwhelmed, being able to handle stress better, sleeping more restfully, improved relationships, or just feeling more like yourself. Progress isn’t always steady, but over time many teens notice more insight, more choice in their reactions, and greater confidence.
